Nurturing a Positive learning environment : A Welcome from Principal Vandana Arora
Dear NIS Parents,
It is my honour and pleasure to welcome you to the new Academic Year.
We know the children of our community have great potential, and it requires every individual in their lives to purposefully work together for their success. Children are born with inquiring minds, and we must be committed to nurturing that innate sense of inquiry by providing them with engaging opportunities to learn, to think critically, to problem solve, and to know how to access information - thereby equipping them with the necessary skills to thrive in a dynamic and global society.
As we can all attest, the last few years have been challenging, but the NIS Community has emerged on the other side more resilient, more unified, and better equipped to handle an ever-changing landscape.
This new school year brings the promise of a renewed dedication, focus, and energy to the mission of teaching and learning.
The School theme this year is ‘Promoting a Positive School Climate’. Working towards creating positive school climate is a recommendation from Cambridge Assessment and International Education. ‘A positive school climate is a combination of personal and contextual factors that increase prosocial interpersonal relationships among students and decrease problem behaviours’ (Zych, 2021).
We recognize that to be successful in school, our students need support from both home and school. A strong partnership with commitment of school and home will make a significant difference in our student’s life. I look forward to continuing our collaboration of providing our students with an effective and engaging educational experience and believe that our parents , as always, will continue to be positive partners in our journey.
Warm Regards
